Also called antibodies, these molecules are composed of two pairs of disulfide-bonded heavy and light chains, each with a constant and a variable region. These pairs are, in turn, held together by two disulfide bonds between each heavy chain. The overall structure approximates a Y-shape conformation, where the variable regions are in the open ends.
