Cat#:PA-124F;Product Name:Rabbit Anti-Uric Acid Antibody;Synonym:1H-Purine-2,6,8-triol; 2,6,8-Trioxopurine; 6,8(3H)-trione,7,9-dihydro-1H-Purine-2; 7,9-Dihydro-1H-purine-2,6,8(3H)-trione; 8(3h)-trione,7,9-dihydro-1h-purine-6; Purine-3,6,8(1H,3H,9H)-trione; PURINE-2,6,8(1H,3H,9H)-TRIONE; PURINE-2,6,8-TRIOL; TRIKETOPURINE; URIC ACID; URIC OXIDE; 8-HYDROXYXANTHINE; 2,6,8-TRIHYDROXYPURINE; 2,6,8-TRIOXYPURINE; LITHIC ACID; uric acid;Background:Uric acid is a major endogenous antioxidant and peroxynitrite scavenger. Xanthine oxidase oxidizes oxypurines such as xanthine and hypoxanthine to uric acid. In humans and higher primates, uric acid is the final oxidation product of purine catabolism. In most other mammals, the enzyme uricase further oxidizes uric acid to allantoin. The loss of uricase in higher primates parallels the similar loss of the ability to synthesize ascorbic acid. This may be because in higher primates uric acid (urate) partially replaces ascorbic acid. Both urate and ascorbate are strong reducing substances (electron donors) and potent antioxidants. In humans, about half the antioxidant capacity of plasma comes from uric acid.;Description:Rabbit Anti-Uric Acid Polyclonal Antibody;Host Species:rabbit;Species Reactivity:Human;Application:WB;Storage:Store antibody products at 2-8°C. For long term storage, aliquot and freeze at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles;Usage:For Lab Research Use Only;
