CD24 is expressed at multiple stages of B cell development, beginning with the bone marrow CD34+ pro-B-cell. compartment and continuing through mature surface IgM+/IgD+ B cells. Plasma cells express very low to negligible levels of CD24. CD24 is not expressed on the cell surface of normal T cells or monocytes, but is expressed on mature granulocytes.
