Studies have shown that GMC8 antigen may be a conformational epitope of CD20. The GMC8 antigen is present on B cells in normal peripheral blood with an expression pattern similar to, but not identical to, that seen for CD22. Anti-B Cell, GMC8, reacts with a subset of B cells that also expresses surface membrane immunoglobulin (SmIg).
