Cat#:EIA-233C;Product Name:Pancreatic / Gut CA19-9 ELISA Kit;Size:96T;Sample:human serum;Intended use:in vitro diagnosis;Synonym:Sialyl Lewis (a); Sialyl Lewisa; Pancreatic/Gut CA19-9; CANCER ASSOCIATED, CA 19-9; Gastrointestinal Tumor Antigen from human cell culture; Gastrointestinal Tumor Antigen from human fluids; CANCER ANTIGEN (CA 19-9);Background:Pancreatic cancer accounts for approximately 2-3% of all cancers and the fourth most common cause of cancer deaths. The disease is more common in men than women with peak incidence occurring at age 60. CA 19-9 is the key marker for this disease. CA 19-9 is a glycoprotein with a molecular weight of 1000000 Da. It is a derivative of the Lea blood group antigen present on normal mesenteric epithelium. Patients that are Lewis a-/b- do not synthesise CA19-9. Recent reports indicate that the serum CA19-9 level is frequently elevated in the serum of subjects with various gastrointestinal malignancies, such as pancreatic, colorectal, gastric and hepatic carcinomas. Together with CEA, elevated CA19-9 is suggestive of gallbladder neoplasm in the setting of inflammatory gallbladder disease. CA19-9 can also be elevated in non-malignant conditions such as chronic pancreatitis, cholangitis, cholecystitis and cirrhosis. For this reason the serum levels of CA19-9 should not be used in screening for pancreatic cancer but is of most use in the monitoring of the course of the disease and response to treatment.;Species Reactivity:Human;Application:quantitative;Storage:Unopened Kit: Store at 2 - 8°C. Do not use past kit expiration date. Opened/Reconstituted Reagents: TMB Solution A; TMB Solution B; TMB Stop Solution; Wash Buffer; HRP-conjugate antibody The above mentioned reagents should be stored for up to 1 month at 2 - 8°C. Microplate Wells: Return unused wells to the foil pouch containing the desiccant pack, reseal along entire edge of zip-seal. May be stored for up to 1 month at 2 - 8°C.;Usage:For Lab Research Use Only;Detection Principle:Sandwich-ELISA;
