Cat#:EIA-758C;Product Name:Bovine IgG1 ELISA Kit;Size:96T;Sample:serum, plasma, milk, and colostrum;Intended use:RUO;Synonym:IgG1; Immunoglobulin G1; Ig gamma 1 chain C region; IGHG1; Immunoglobulin heavy constant gamma 1 (G1m marker);Background:There are five classes of mammalian immunoglobulins (Ig): IgA, IgD, IgE, IgG, and IgM. In cows, the Ig classes that have been identified are, IgA, IgG, IgM and IgE. No evidence of bovine IgD has been found (Naessens, 1997). Bovine IgG is further divided into two subclasses, IgG1 and IgG2. IgG is the immunoglobulin found in the highest concentration in serum. It is a relatively small Ig that exists as a monomer of two heavy and two light chain (H2L2) polypeptides linked together by disulfide bonds. Bovine IgG1 constitutes about 50% of the serum IgG in cows while IgG2 levels are just slightly less (Tizard, 1982). Serum IgG1 concentration is reported in the range of 6.0 - 15.1 mg/ml, while IgG2 levels are reported in a range from 5.0 -13.5 mg/ml (Butler, 1983). Bovine IgG1 is the predominant IgG in milk and colostrum and is found at higher concentrations than IgG2. Reported values for IgG1 in colostrum are in the range of 30.0 – 75.0 mg/ml, while IgG2 levels range from 1.9 - 4.0 mg/ml (Butler, 1983). The activities and functions of IgG1 and IgG2 appear to have similar and distinct roles in immunity. The predominance of IgG1 in exocrine fluids, milk, and colostrum suggests a special role of IgG1 in passive immunity and the protection of epithelial surfaces (Butler, 1983).;Species Reactivity:Bovine;Application:quantitate;Storage:Unopened Kit: Store at 2 - 8°C. Do not use past kit expiration date. Opened/Reconstituted Reagents: TMB Solution A; TMB Solution B; TMB Stop Solution; Wash Buffer; HRP-conjugate antibody The above mentioned reagents should be stored for up to 1 month at 2 - 8°C. Microplate Wells: Return unused wells to the foil pouch containing the desiccant pack, reseal along entire edge of zip-seal. May be stored for up to 1 month at 2 - 8°C.;Usage:For Lab Research Use Only;Detection Principle:Sandwich ELISA;
