Cat#: | RP-3213H |
Product Name: | Recombinant Human FGF2 Protein, Plant |
Synonym: | Prostatropin, HBGH-2, HBGF-2, FGF-2, FGF-b, Fibroblast growth factor 2, Basic fibroblast growth factor, Heparin-binding growth factor 2. |
Description: | FGF-2 Protein produced in rice is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 146 amino acids and having a molecular mass of ~17kDa. The FGF-b protein is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques. |
Source: | Rice Grain (Oryza Sativa). |
Purity: | Greater than 95.0% as determined by SDS-PAGE. |
Bioactivity: | The ED50, as calculated by the dose-dependent proliferation of Balb/c 3T3 cells expressing FGF receptors is <1 ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of >1 x106 Units/mg. |
Formulation: | FGF-b was lyophilized from a concentrated solution without any additives. |
Stability: | Recombinant Proteins are stable for up to 1 year from date of receipt at -70℃ |
Reconstitution: | It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized Fibroblast Growth Factor Basic in sterile 18MΩ-cm H2O not less than 100µg/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions. |
Storage: | Lyophilized Fibroblast Growth Factor-2 although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18°C. Upon reconstitution FGF-b should be stored at 4°C between 2-7 days and for future use below -18°C. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles. |
