  • IgG is the immunoglobulin class that is most predominant in blood serum of domestic animals and man, thus plays the major role in antibody-mediated defense mechanisms. Bovine IgG levels range from 17 to 27 mg/ml in serum but can vary due to seasonal differences. IgG is also the most predominant immunoglobulin in colostrum of most major domestic animals including bovine. The range of IgG in bovine colostrum is 34 to 80 mg/ml with IgG1 being the more predominant. The range of IgG in bovine milk is 0.5 to 7.5 mg/ml.
