Bovine and human lactoferrin consist of 689 and 691 amino acids, respectively, and have 69% sequence identity. Their three-dimensional structures are also very similar.In humans, the protective effects of lactoferrin include antimicrobial activity against various microorganisms (bacteria, viruses, fungi, etc.), as well as anti- inflammatory and anticancer activities.
